Today’s outfit of the day features this adorable strapless sunflower patterned romper from h&m. It is super comfy and cute and best of all, it was under 20 dollars! An amazing purchase and I plan on taking more pictures in this outfit later on in the summer! Sadly I only got to wear this outfit for a short while today as it rained on and off all afternoon where I live and became quite cold in the late afternoon. : (
American Eagle has been killing it recently ! I’ve been in twice in the last couple weeks and not only were the prices on everything marked down, but their summer clothing collection was adorable! I found two adorable summer tank tops for under $20 each, and this lovely white maxi dress was on clearance for less than $50! I’ve been impressed with the quality of the clothing I’ve purchased there recently as well! Well worth the money! This dress in particular is very well made, with a crochet top half, and a very full middle and bottom – with no awkward see through skirt as I find is common in many white maxi dresses of a similar style. I had to get the bottom hemmed as this was a size small as it was the last dress in stock and I usually wear a size extra small as I’m tiny (5’0). I was able to have it hemmed without ruining the look of the dress which was nice.
Today’s outfit of the day is this gorgeous romper that I purchased in Marina Del Rey, California last year. The pattern is very beachy and fun and the material is thin which is good for hot days.
These photos were taken in sunny Marina Del Rey, California a while back, as the weather where I am today was not permitting me to take any outdoor photographs.
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend and for those celebrating Father’s Day I hope it was good!
I spent most of Saturday morning studying for the GRE test that I have to take in the end of July for my Masters program and taking flatlay photography in my room (the photo above was taken then). 😝I’ve developed a recent obsession for flatlay photography and I find it fun finding a mix of fashion items and knick knacks that go well together and capturing them in a photograph.
I wanted to mention something that I found quite fascinating that happened to me on Sunday. I’ll start with a bit of background information. 12 years ago, the summer after I turned 10, my aunt gave me a beautiful ring as a late birthday gift while my family and my cousins family were up at my grandparents cottage together. It was an adorable flower shaped ring- a blue stone in the middle, surrounded with tiny diamonds that made up the flower’s petals. I was so happy about the ring and so excited to wear it because It was truly the first piece of “real” jewellery I had ever received, so I put it on right away. The ring had been made a little too big for my tiny 10 year old fingers and after not even 5 minutes of chasing my cousins around the backyard while holding a red balloon, I felt myself accidentally let go of said balloon, which caused the ring to slip right off my finger. The entire backyard is made up of sand as the cottage backs onto a sand hill, so the ring landed somewhere in the sand making it impossible to see. I was so distraught over losing the ring that I remember crying for the rest of the day and for the rest of that weekend, my whole family searched for the ring. We never found it. We spent years looking for it every summer in the sand, using shovels and sifting pans but to no avail. Eventually we all forgot about it. Fast forward 12 years later and somehow my grandfather-who at 80 still manages to maintain a house and a cottage-was doing yard work in the backyard of the cottage when he spotted something shiny sitting on top of the sand. And lo and behold; it was the ring! He called me right away to tell me and I was so shocked! I never thought I’d see it again, especially not after 12 years had already passed! I visited my grandparents Sunday and was reunited with the ring at last. It actually fits me much better then it fit my younger self and it’s in great shape considering it weathered 12 years of rain, wind, snow, and dirt! 😝
Has anyone else lost something for a long time only to find it turn up randomly much later? Let me know in the comments ! 😊
I’ve been seeing these statement sleeve tops around so much lately and I decided to give the trend a shot! I purchased this Ruffle sleeved top at h&m for a mere $17.99! It is perfect to dress up or down and can be perfectly paired with shorts, jeans, or skirts. For today, I chose to pair it with these cute tie up waist black shorts from the store Dynamite. The shoes are black platform sandals from the California store Irene’s Story. I was quite pleased with how this Ruffle top looked tucked into shorts and will definitely be putting it to use with different bottoms as the summer goes on!
